# Numeric Expressions

Numeric Expressions return a numeric value and each part of the expression is evaluated as a numeric value. The calculation is executed linearly; no operator has priority over the others. To define priority you can use brackets (“(“).

When editing an Expression of this type, you have available [Functions ](/kalipso/6.0/documentation/expressions/functions.md)and all the Kalipso objects from where you can retrieve values ([Global Variables](/kalipso/6.0/documentation/environment/project-explorer/variables.md), [Controls ](/kalipso/6.0/documentation/controls.md)and [Local Variables](/kalipso/6.0/documentation/form/local-variables.md)). To use any of these items you just have to double-click it and it will be automatically added to the Expression.
