# Shape

A Shape is a frame composed by a geometric figure: line or rectangle. This Control doesn’t interact with the user. You can use Shapes to stylish your application.\

**Common**

* **Name** - Name of the Control. This Name will be used to identify the Control throughout the Project. The name of the Control can only contain letters, digits or underscore (\_).
* **Text** - *Not applicable to this control.*
* **Description** - *Not applicable to this control.*
* **Plane** - Plane of the Form where the Control should be created. Check the [Planes](/kalipso/documentation/form/planes.md) chapter for more information.
* **Visible** - With this option selected, the control is (or is not) visible.

**Layout**

* **X** - x position of the Control from left
* **Y** - y position of the Control from top
* **Width** - Width of the Control.
* **Height** - Height of the Control

In relation to all these layout options, it is possible to set this value in runtime via the “[**Set Property**](/kalipso/documentation/actions/group-controls/set-property.md)” Action. You can also retrieve this value in runtime via the “[**Get Property**](/kalipso/documentation/actions/group-controls/get-property.md)” Action.

**Style**

In the right corner of the window you can choose the style for this control. The available ones are:

* None
* Base
* Ellipse
* Header
* MenuItemBack
* SubHeader

***Appearance***

* **Background** - Background color of the Control. You can set the color for the background.
* **Opacity** - Set the percentage of opacity for the background.

***Shape***

Its possible to choose a Line, Rectangule, Elipse and a Circle shape.<br>

* **Line** - Select the line color.
* **Thickness** - Select the thickness of the shape line.
* **Rounded Corners** - Select if the object will have rounded corners.
* **Radius** - In case the option rounded corners is select you are able to define the radius of it.
* **Borders** - Choose which line of borders you want to add (left, right, top, bottom and none).
